Who We Are
Chancellor Health Care, LLC is the parent company of Chancellor Health Care, Inc. and its subsidiary operating companies. Chancellor Health Care, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware on November 20, 1992 as a privately owned C-corporation. The Corporation was established to develop, acquire and/or manage senior living communities. At the present time, Chancellor Health Care, Inc. operates six senior living communities.
Chancellor Health Care develops and manages long term care communities for the senior population, including housing, supportive services, and skilled nursing care. We help residents enjoy the highest quality of life possible in the most appropriate and cost-effective setting, based upon their needs. Our goal is to provide exceptional care for residents, and to be recognized as a premier provider in the senior housing and care industry.
We care for over 400 seniors at our 6 communities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We employ about 400 employees, many of whom have been with us since we began managing the community at which they work.
Maple Valley Memory Care was was acquired by Chancellor Health Care in 2016.
Maple Valley Memory Care specializes in caring for adults who have Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia. Maple Valley has developed unique operational protocols to enhance quality of life for residents. We offer an appropriate range of life-affirming and encouraging activities through our Honoring Choice program. Individualized programs are developed based on each person's individual abilities and cognitive abilities.
At Maple Valley, our staff care for their residents while allowing each person to live according to their lifelong patterns and preferences. By honoring each person in our care, we can say that our residents experience life to the fullest, where strengths, interests, friendships and preferences can flourish.
We base our philosophy of care on the teachings of Dr. Thomas Kitwood (1997) who indoctrinated person centered care, and a person directed approach. The essence of this philosophy focuses on honoring the self of each person by respecting self-esteem issues for every resident we encounter. In this culture, a positive relationship that respects the person’s life history, preferences and identity are always honored. Every interaction with a resident provides for a connection where an overall sense of wellbeing is encouraged. Once a person is truly perceived at a personal level, the care of this person expands to a rich and full involvement between these human beings. The true essence of a person is honored, generating a much deeper relationship over time, by which meaningful moments are made.
At Maple Valley, we have embraced the concept of a culture change, moving away from the traditional model or design of dementia care, which unintentionally fostered dependence. Rather, we are focused on a resident and person-centered model: an environment created to increase autonomy and a resident’s desire for control in their life setting, whereby choice and preferences are routine.
Our goal is to create an environment and a culture that strives to respect and embrace each individual we serve through enriching personal connections and daily experiences.
Memory care communities are not the same. Each has its own personality and philosophy. At Maple Valley we believe that life doesn't just happen, life is what we make it. It is our goal to assist our residents to live an active life filled with joy and happiness.
